Community Guidelines
The short version
- Upload work you made or have the rights to, and credit the people you build on.
- Nudity is allowed and marked NSFW. Sexual acts aren't allowed.
- An automatic check suggests tags and titles, marks nudity, and holds anything that may be explicit for a moderator.
- Comments are for the work. Be decent to people.
- Report wallpapers, comments, accounts, or a moderator. Reports about the team go only to the admins.
This summary is here to help you read the page. The full text below is what applies.
What belongs here
Wallpapers: images and short loops made to live on a screen. Photography, illustration, 3D, and generative work are all welcome. It has to be your work, or work you have the rights to share.
Nudity is allowed, marked NSFW. These are not allowed, and are rejected or removed:
- sexual acts, or images made to show one;
- anything sexual or nude involving someone who is, or looks like, a minor (we report it);
- sexual violence, bestiality, and intimate images of real people shared without their consent;
- gore or cruelty meant to shock, and anything that glorifies self-harm;
- hate symbols and propaganda, harassment, and spam or misleading uploads.
Screenshots of other people's art and near-duplicates of your own uploads don't belong here either.
Files and quality
Upload the largest version you have. Every download size is made from that original, whatever its shape. Smaller sizes are scaled down, and sizes bigger than the file are upscaled and marked with how much. When the shape does not match, the download page lets you choose which part fills the screen. The shortest side has to be at least 400 pixels. Loops can be up to 30 seconds. You can also add a slow zoom, pan, or drift to a still to make it a live wallpaper.
Credit and rights
Credit the people you build on in the Credit field: a photographer, a model, a texture, or a font author. The license you pick when you upload is the license downloaders receive, so pick one you are allowed to grant. If you are not sure, "Free for personal use" is the narrowest.
AI-assisted work
AI-assisted work is welcome. If the upload form shows the AI-assisted box, tick it when you used AI tools. That lets people filter honestly.
Adult work
Tick NSFW for nudity or graphic content. NSFW work is hidden from everyone who has not opted in from settings. The automatic check (below) also marks nudity, so you don't have to guess. It never removes a mark you set.
The automatic check
Every upload is checked by image-recognition models that run on our own server. Nothing is sent to another company. The check does four things:
- Suggests tags and titles from what's in the picture and its colors. They're suggestions. You choose what to keep.
- Marks nudity NSFW. If it marks something that isn't, untick NSFW on the wallpaper's page and a moderator will review it.
- Holds anything that may be explicit for a moderator before it goes public. The models can't reliably tell nudity from a sexual act, so a person decides. Only you and the moderators can see it while it waits.
- Refuses uploads that are clearly not allowed, for example when the title or tags describe sexual content involving minors.
It makes mistakes in both directions. Moderators can approve, mark or clear NSFW, or remove anything, and reports still come to a person.
Comments and mentions
Comments are for the work. Say what you like about it and ask how it was made. Keep criticism about the work, not the person. An @mention notifies someone, so don't use mentions to spam or pile on. You can delete your own comments. A creator can delete comments on their own wallpapers.
Challenges, votes, and tips
Enter work you made for the brief. Vote for the work you think is best. You have three votes a week. Don't use extra accounts, and don't trade votes. Tips are a thank-you, never a condition. Don't pressure anyone for a tip, and don't offer to trade tips or follows.
Reporting
Every wallpaper and comment has a Report button. The reasons are: not the uploader's work, sexual or violent content, hate or harassment, spam or misleading, ai-generated but not labelled, duplicate or low quality. You can report an account from its page, or from Report a problem. A person reads every report.
If a moderator misused their role, report the moderator. Reports about anyone on the team go only to the owner and admins, never to the moderators, and the admins can check everything a moderator did in the audit log. If your own work was uploaded by someone else, the DMCA Policy is the fastest route.
Moderators and what they do
Moderators are members who volunteer. They're listed on /moderators with the code they follow, and when applications are open anyone can apply there. Moderators can approve or turn down held uploads, mark or clear NSFW, remove wallpapers and comments, and answer reports about content and accounts.
The owner and admins also suspend accounts, handle reports about the team, and read the audit log of every action moderators take. We usually start with the smallest step that fixes the problem. Serious or repeated breaks of these guidelines or the Terms of Use can close an account the first time. A suspended account can't log in. To appeal, email [email protected].
